Exortus recognises its duty of care to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people. We are committed to ensuring that safeguarding practices reflect statutory responsibilities, current government guidance, and best practice within the United Kingdom.
This policy applies to all coaches, staff, volunteers, members, and anyone involved in activities delivered by Exortus.
Exortus believes that the welfare and wellbeing of children and young people is paramount in all circumstances. We aim to ensure that every child, regardless of age, ability or disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation, or socio-economic background, has the opportunity to participate in fitness in a safe, positive, supportive, and child-centred environment.
All children participating in activities at Exortus, including our Youth Fitness Academy and family training sessions, have the right to enjoy sport and exercise free from harm, abuse, or exploitation.
Exortus recognises that some children may be more vulnerable to abuse, including disabled children and young people, children from minority ethnic communities, and children experiencing difficult home or social circumstances. We accept the responsibility to take all reasonable and appropriate steps to protect their welfare and ensure they are safe whilst participating in our activities.

All staff, coaches, and volunteers working with children at Exortus are expected to act in the best interests of children at all times, provide a safe, respectful, and supportive environment, treat all children fairly and with dignity, follow safeguarding procedures and report concerns immediately, and maintain appropriate professional boundaries with young participants.
Any safeguarding concerns, allegations, or incidents involving children must be reported immediately to the designated safeguarding lead within Exortus. Concerns will be handled sensitively, confidentially, and in line with safeguarding procedures. Where appropriate, concerns may also be referred to relevant external authorities such as local safeguarding services.
This safeguarding policy applies to all individuals involved with Exortus, including coaches, staff, volunteers, and members involved in youth activities. Failure to comply with safeguarding procedures may result in disciplinary action and may lead to removal from involvement with the organisation.
This safeguarding policy will be reviewed one year after its initial adoption and every three years thereafter. It may also be reviewed sooner following changes in legislation or government guidance, updates from safeguarding authorities or sporting bodies, or following any safeguarding incident or significant organisational change.
